Năm 2009, Netflix đăng tải lên Slideshare 1 bài thuyết trình mà sau này Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg nhận xét “có thể là tài liệu quan trọng nhất từ Thung lũng Sillicon” [1]. Tài liệu này, hiện tại vẫn còn trên Slideshare: https://www.slideshare.net/reed2001/culture-1798664 và đã có tới 18 triệu lượt xem, xoay quanh các giá trị văn hoá và tuyển dụng của Netflix . Năm 2014, Patty McCord (Chief Talend Officer) của Netflix đăng bài trên Havard Business Review để bàn về hiện tượng này [2]. …

What makes a good boss?

Knowing what makes a good boss is crucial. William Raduchel –  independent director & former professor of economics at Harvard – said:

Don’t pick a job. Pick a Boss. Your first boss is the biggest factor in your career success. A boss who doesn’t trust you won’t give you opportunities to grow. – William Raduchel

Especially for fresh graduates or people who have just started their career, choosing the first boss to work for is of uttermost importance, because the first boss will significantly define their directions and future roads. So if you are fresh graduates / young professionals, how to know if you should work for a certain boss? What are the qualities of a good boss that you should work for?

Best interview questions for developers

Many people asked me a list of Best interview questions for developers. In previous post I described 6 qualities of people which are most important in considering for recruitment. These 6 qualities are:

1. Growth mindset (Enthusiastic to grow. Willing to learn)

2. Proactive thinking (Active in identifying & solving problems, not just passively receiving tasks)

3. Problem solver

4. Team spirit

5. Flexibility (Adapting to changes well, willing to adapt to changes)

6. Ability to retrospect.

I also stated that no matter industries and/or positions you are hiring for, you should find people with at least 2-3 of the above qualities. “Hard” skills such as technical skills or past experience are just secondary.

Interview questions for developers or any other positions in any other industries must help identify people with 6 above qualities.
